Welcome to the website of UBS, The Universal Beneficent Society
UBS: Combating isolation and poverty amongst older people |
 | UBS exists to alleviate the problems faced by the most disadvantaged and isolated older people, especially those living alone in inner-city areas. We provide to those in need lifelong friendship and financial support. UBS supports those in need without distinction of class, creed, nationality or sect. |
We provide older people throughout the UK with lifelong friendship and financial support:
- Practical support through services provided by our community volunteers
- Friendship and regular social contact through befriending schemes
- Small grants in emergencies
- Christmas food hampers and a winter cash gift
- A small, regular extra income paid quarterly
- Bedding packs and thermal slippers to guard against hypothermia
- Regular letters, cards and newsletters
Our support is committed for the rest of our beneficiaries' lives unless there is a significant change in their circumstances |
