UBS: Combating isolation and poverty amongst older people

UBS Beneficiaries

UBS exists to alleviate the problems faced by the most disadvantaged and isolated older people, especially those living alone in inner-city areas. We provide to those in need lifelong friendship and financial support. UBS supports those in need without distinction of class, creed, nationality or sect.

Please support our fearless Flora London Marathon runner, Ali Rawlinson!

Alexander Rawlinson from Blackpool, who lives in Tooting, South West London, successfully completed the Flora London Marathon, which was held on Sunday 26th April 2009.

He braved the dark early mornings and bitterly cold evenings, pounding the pavements to prepare himself for his very first marathon attempt. On the day he had an altogether different challenge in fighting against the burning late April sun. He kindly volunteered his services to raise money for UBS, which is being spent entirely on developing our vital work with vulnerable older people across the UK.

So far his amazing achievement of 4hrs 45mins [beating his 5hrs target] has raised us £4,500 in total, for which we are so grateful to him and everyone who has so far supported his efforts, so thank you Ali and everyone.

To make his effort and sacrifice even more worthwhile, if you would like to add yourself to his growing list of generous sponsors, please do make a donation to UBS. This can be done immediately by visiting his Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/alexanderrawlinson to give a gift online or use our Head Office details to send in a cheque or call to make a credit/debit card donation over the telephone.

We wish to thank Ali from everyone at UBS!
